LAW......

IT IS F I N I S H E D Jesus said John 19 : 30

The dispensation of LAW.... FINISHED.... brought to an end.... completed.... FULFILLED.... ABOLISHED.... ANNULLED.... done away with.... ended

by the ultimate sacrifice for sin, the passover Lamb of GOD !

The veil of the temple ripped in two from top to bottom, by the unseen hand of God

( Note... if a human person had ripped it - it would have been done from ground level upwards - from bottom to top, not the other way around ! )

Accompanied by an earthquake.... what exquisite timing ! Matthew 27:51

The sun darkened.... darkness over the all the earth for 3 hours Luke 23:44, 45

( was it an eclipse ? Again.... what incredible timing !)

Graves opened, many righteous dead resurrected and walking into the city, to be witnessed by many Mathew 27:52, 53

Wow.... what signs and wonders, that could only have been wrought by God himself

IT IS FINISHED.... by the action of the last Adam.... on mankind's behalf

The DISPENSATION of LAW.... THE OLD MOSAIC COVENANT.... and its COMMANDMENTS, ORDINANCES, SACRIFICES.......

FINISHED.... COMPLETED.... DONE AWAY WITH

replaced by a better one.... that of G R A C E

by an unchangeable and eternal HIGH PRIEST Hebrews 9:11-26, 10:18-21, 7:23-28 - 8:6

by Jesus, who had lived his life under the Law, but with his death ushered in the dispensation of Grace, that included Gentiles...

Christ is the END of the LAW for righteousness to everyone who believes Romans 10:4

we are delivered from the Law Romans 7:6

we are NOT UNDER LAW but under GRACE Romans 6:14

On the mount of Transfiguration the picture was portrayed... Matthew 17

Moses - of the Old Covenant and the Law

Elijah - of the Prophets

OVERSHADOWED by a bright cloud.... and a voice out of the cloud...

this is my BELOVED SON, in whom I AM well pleased, HEAR YE HIM Matthew 17:1-8

and when they looked up they saw no man ( no Moses / Law nor Elijah / Prophet)

but Jesus ONLY

But note that Peter with his naturally good motives only, wanted to build a couple of Tabernacles each for Moses and Elijah... he was definitely into biggggggg building programmes ! However, Calvary had still not happened, and he was still learning !

So, this is the second of the 2 main insights that have influenced me and my life the most !

The first one was..... the difference between RELIGION and CHRISTIANITY

that happened very soon after my 'born again' experience, and even eventually birthed this website.

This led me to my view on the structured institutionalised Church system, which I and others now refer to as 'the PRS' (the Present Religious System)

But this second one.... the difference between LAW and GRACE, in which I have had renewed interest after reading Joseph Prince's book DESTINED TO REIGN.

But long before reading this book, during my prison visitation times, I found that this subject or topic continually surfaced, and particularly after the inmates had had contact with Seventh Day Adventists !

To get the distinction understood between LAW and GRACE is so vital

Its why the Bible is divided into 2 parts.... the Old and NEW Testaments or Covenants.... but the Old Testament should include most of the 4 Gospels... up to Jesus death in each of them.... the New Testament should start at Calvary, and then the book of Acts !

Jesus last breath and words were were that His work, his mission – to fulfill the requirements of the LAW, had been accomplished and achieved

The Law was not to be destroyed, but to be FULFILLED - and it's so important to understand and realise this vital difference ! And this is where Seventh Day Adventists and other Legalists founder and misunderstand

The Law and its ordinances.... ABOLISHED or ANNULLED 2 Corinthians 3:13, 14

Not destroyed, but fulfilled and replaced, its time and work done, completed !

Replaced by the Gospel of GRACE Acts 20:24

what I call... RADICAL GRACE

GRACE... the unmerited and unearned favour of God

that is Life Changing, bringing freedom and favour

(Note... Freedom from Sin, not Freedom TO sin....... Liberty, not license !)

My Concordance tells me that the word GRACE appears 160 times in the Bible !

God is called the GOD of all GRACE 1 Peter 5:10

For the Law was given my Moses, but GRACE and TRUTH came by Jesus Christ John 1:17

And the Gentiles were definitely not to be under any shadow of the Law Acts 15:25-29

To be FALLEN FROM GRACE is not to be caught out by adultery or immorality as the modern usage and meaning goes, but TO REVERT BACK TO LAW and LEGALISM and trying to be somehow justified by our own works

as Galatians 5:4 clearly shows

To be a Legalist is to be 'Fallen from GRACE '

where works of any sort, especially religious works, are regarded by us as 'brownie points'

The FOREWORD of DESTINED TO REIGN by Joseph Prince

He had heard God say clearly to him "Son, you are not preaching grace... every time you preach grace, you preach it with a mixture of law. You attempt to balance grace with the law like many other preachers, and the moment you balance grace, you neutralize it. You cannot put new wine into old wineskins. You cannot put grace and law together"

Grace is only grace when it is undeserved, unearned and unmerited.

But so many men, ministers and Churches preach GRACE on occasions for Salvation, then immediately follow it up by mixing it with works, and so pollute it and spoil pure GRACE

( Just whose kingdom are they building any way ? Gods or their own ?)

Then prodigal son experienced and knew what GRACE was all about Luke 15:11 onwards

and so should we !
