DOCTRINE 1 A DEITY OF CHRIST

WHAT THINK YE OF CHRIST ?

What think ye of Christ is the test,

To try both your state and your scheme.

You cannot be right in the rest

Unless you think rightly about Him.

As Jesus appears to your view,

And He is beloved or not.

So God is disposed to you,

And mercy or wrath is your lot.

Some take Him a creature to be,

A man or an angel at most,

But they have not feelings like me,

Nor know themselves wretched and lost.

So guilty and helpless am I,

I durst not confide in His blood,

Nor on His protection rely,

Unless I were sure He is God.

Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, “How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.” Jesus answered them ... I and My Father are one.” Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?” The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.” John 10 : 24 – 39

Rather plain indeed, exactly what they were asking, and what Jesus was claiming !

To the extent of them wanting to stone him for blasphemy … claiming to be GOD !

For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. 1 John 5:7

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Again, quite plain to my reading !

But there are some of you who do not believe. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. John 6: 63, 64

A man convinced against his will

is but the same opinion still !
